Alejandra B. Osorio teaches Spanish American history, gender and feminist theory, the history of cities, and comparative empires. She is the author of Inventing Lima. Baroque Modernity in Peru's South Sea Metropolis (2008). Her current research deals with what it meant to be modern in the Spanish Hapsburg Empire.
